Coffee? Germany? Santa Monica? Yes to all three.

I knew Alex from the local coffeeshop by my house. When she told me she was going to start her own cafe, I was inspired and impressed. When she asked me to help create her brand and logo, I was extremely flattered and excited. Born in Germany, Alex wanted a little influence from her homeland to be felt in the brand. The result is something I’m extremely proud of. And their coffee is ausgezeichnet! (excellent)

Using inspiration from Berlin, I created a “bear” icon for Cafe Berlina. This, along with a primary wordmark and a tertiary “mug and baguette” logo, combined to create a brand identity that is super fun and specific. A little modern, a little nostalgic, and a beautiful teal blue that is used throughout the store, Cafe Berlina is my favorite project to date. Be sure to try the “Bearlatte” if you stop by!
